I Make Short Short Short Films
posted August 15th, 2007 · by MammothChuck/Grand Palace has commissioned a video from yours truly. But before I embark on this errand, I wanted to familiarize those of you who haven’t seen my videos with my work.
I know that some of you have glimpsed the genius that is Mammoth Videos, but not all. So here are the six I’ve done so far. They are intentionally lo-fi. Feel free to leave comments on YouTube to let me know what you think. Be it hate or love, I can take the heat.
I Like To Drive - This is my first video. I was testing out the software I would use to make the future films. Which is Windows Movie Maker. Even though this one is sans graphics that the videos that followed it had, people say its their favorite.
Sometimes I Dance - I started using graphics in this one. I was still experimenting a bit. This is really the only true stop animation film I’ve made. I hadn’t started doing them under my Mammoth moniker just yet.
Goin’ On A Trip - This is the video where I feel I figured out the system by which I would be making the rest of my films. It’s also one of my favorites.
I Like To Drive pt. 2 - I decided to honor my original film by revisiting its title and theme. Also, i shot this whole video with my cell phone, hence the elongated look. Can you find the kitten?
I wear Sauconys and Tube Socks - The shortest of my short short films. Pictures taken at Thai Spice. If you haven’t found this new gem of a Thai restaurant, its where New China used to be, in the strip mall, two doors down from the Gyro place on N. Rutherford blvd. Its got amazing food, and for $5.50 you can get thier all-you-can-eat buffet that has heavenly yellow curry on it. Tell them Jamie sent you. They love me, as I do them.
The Things That Move On My Desktop (or, How To Get Paid $10.60 hr To Make Films) - This is the latest short short film I’ve done. It’s my favorite. It has more crappy animation than the rest. Can you find Ian?
Well, thats my work as of today. In the next few days, I’ll be making one of Grand Palace. Hope to see you in it.

These are excellent. The pyschedelic nature of your head’s movements at the end of I Wear Sauconys And Tube Socks makes that one my favorite, but I enjoyed them all. Seeing them in order is nice, too, there’s definitely a nice progression in your work.

well, my AC went out in my house, so i wasnt able to get to Grand Palaces video yet, but it will happen this week. Also, Velcro Stars want to make a video as well now, so im all booked up for a while.
